My '99 intrepid has a problem staying running?
so, its got a 2.7L V6 under the hood, ( i know it sucks). occasionaly it will start acting up. when you give it gas it spits and jumps pretty bad. when i come to stop it has a tendancy to stall. When i start it up it will have a hard time staying running. the check engine light comes and goes. i got it tested. the std was a p1391. The definition of the code is cmp or ckp signal intermittent. the explanation is the ecm detected the actual cmp position disagreed with the expected cmp level. Probable causes are the timing belt or chain is stretched or jumped and a defective cmp sensor. would anything else be wrong with the car? i just wanted to know if anything else would make it act like that. it doesnt make a lot of sense if the engine light goes out and it acts fine for a while until the light comes back on.
