What do you do about this? Question about kidergardener got no help from her teacher?

I was a kindergarten teacher for 12 years (now I teach 2nd gr.). Can you imagine how much we would get done if I had to stop and tie shoes for 26 students? What I told my students was that I do not tie shoes, but find a friend who knows how to tie and have them help you. I have seen students do a better job of teaching other students how to tie than grownups can. It has something to do with the other child knowing what words to use because they both speak the same language: kidspeak. So what I would do is have the teacher explain her policy (maybe she has but your daughter didn't tell you) and then work on teaching her at home.
