Why do we kid ourselves? Money DOES buy happiness!?

Studies show that lower income families are less happy than higher income families. WHY do we act surprised by this???? WHY do we lie to ourselves and our children and tell them money doesn't buy happiness??? Lower income= more crime, more poverty, more mentally unstable people and higher divorce rates. WHY do we put on this act??? Stop telling your kids that money doesn't buy happiness!!! How many women out there are married to men who make 7.50 an hour???? Not many, i'd wager. We don't want to appear greedy, so we put on a huge act. Money does matter!! Am I the only one who can admit this? Don't just type it, PROVE IT!! Just typing " I make 8 bucks an hour and i'm happy" doesn't prove anything. It only proves me right.
