How can I stop my hands from burning and itching?

I gave my bf a mage using "hemp zap" (heat rub) because his shoulders/back were killing him. Then I washed my hands but the burning and itching persisted. Then I rubbed my face and my face got hot and itchy. Is there a way to get that stuff off my hands better than using soap and water?
